Description
This resource edited by Barbara Haselbach and Carolee Stewart, features articles from some 75 Orff teachers representing 25 different cultures eloquently describing how the Schulwerk has grown and prospered in their country. It includes five classic introductory articles by Hermann Regner, Mary Shamrock, Michael Kugler, Wolfgang Hartmann, and Doug Goodkin. This collection is a commentary on the phenomenon of the rapid and worldwide dissemination of Orff Schulwerk, which has been in continuous process for more than 70 years since its origins in Central Europe. In documenting the various adaptations of Orff Schulwerk, the authors describe characteristics and differences that result from weaving in each country’s own cultural traditions and educational systems.
